This morning Steve came in from feeding and watering cows to tell me to grab the camera and come see what he found.

You really need to click on the pictures to see the incredible texture,  transparency and translucency.   I havent tried to Google this yet to see what kind of mushroom it is.  Let me know if you know.

Then around noon, after doing some fall maintenance jobs outside, he came in again to tell me what he found.  This time it was a new “weed flower”.  We have lots of weeds….. lots of them flower.  I like all of them, as long as they are colorful and have interesting shapes.  I have no idea what these are either.  Neither of us have seen them anywhere before.  They are right up against the house too.  What great texture!

Then, about 3 this afternoon Steve came in AGAIN with the best discovery of all!

All we did was go into the pasture, took a picture….. then Steve tried to lift its leg to see if it was a boy or girl.  Huh uh.  Nope.  Not gonna happen.  The calf jumped up, bolted and went right through the electric fence to the neighbor’s woods.  Great.  I got outa the pasture (I’m no fool…. I wont stay in there with the grumpy bull) while Steve went to the neighbor’s woods to retrieve the calf.  Calf’s mama Prissy called to it, Steve kind of nudged it along, and calf finally came home.

Keep tuned for the naming.  We have had naming contests before, and may again.

Mushrooms are so interesting, on last few fishing trips I’ve seen some very interesting ones in the bush and always mean to take pics. I could have files of things I take pictures of just because I find them interesting!
That Calf is pretty private eh? or Modest maybe its name should go with something like that?
