My good friend Ronda sent me an email last nite telling me that her son had taken his own life.  It rocked me.  Broke my heart to know that she would have to learn to cope without him in her life anymore.  And broke my heart that there would be two generations of women (Ronda and her Mom) that would be living with the pain of sons leaving the world this way.

What do you say to a friend who has to go through this?  What can you do?  The truth is, not much.  Sad isnt it?  I wish I had the right words for her.  The right “fix”.  There is no fix.  There are no words.  There are only the feelings and tears.  I couldn’t sleep last nite.  I am sure she didnt either.  I can’t imagine what all she must be feeling.

Be well Ronda……. wrap your arms around the grandgirls and love them.  You all need each other.  And know that I am thinking of you and sending you love, support and prayers.

Gayle, I don’t know Ronda as well as you, but I met her at MQS and she and I have been communicating via email about health issues as well as longarm related stuff. I have been reeling ever since her email last night and feel the same pain and helplessness that you and many others feel. I’ll have to say that it was the most shocking email I have ever received. I still can’t believe it and I can’t imagine how Ronda must feel. What a way to start the year. Life is precious, isn’t it?
