Jammie Day (again!)

Another jammie day today.  Cold, snowy, blowy….. why bother putting on other clothes?  Shower, new jammies.  May do the same thing tomorrow too!

I got alot done today though.  Did laundry, cleaned up some messes, started quilting a quilt and worked on my Bella quilt.

Here are a few shots of my day:

I got the corners put on half of this, and started on the middle.

I am wondering if I should put some kind of applique in the corners.  It shows applique in the book, but I really dont care for what the designs are.   I wont really know until I get the middle done, and all of it put together with it’s last dark turquoise border.  In the meantime, think about it with me, wont you?   The colors of this remind me of the ocean…. sand and surf…… hmmm, will need to think of what might work.

And while youre in thinking mode about my quilt (you are, arent you?) then let me know any ideas you have on quilting it too!  Frankly, I am baffled by how to keep so much dimension in it.  Have been thinking about this since I got the book.

A few random thoughts……

When is aid going to be sent to the people in the Gaza strip?  They have no food, no heat, no electricity.  No fuel, no medicine.  Hospitals trying to operate in these intolerable conditions.  Normal people trying to survive.  They need help.  The blockades must end.

My grandson William and his sweet Mommy, Yvonne need to start really getting better TODAY.

Contractors who want your business need to call when they say they will, come when they scheduled and then return a price for what WE want, not what they want.  If you cant do these things, you wont get our business.   We just got a contractor to do a job for us and we are very pleased with him.  Hopefully the hiring for heating and plumbing and electrician will go as smoothly.

Steve is reading The Secret Life of Bees.  I loved this book.  He was reading a Beverly Lewis book and got bored with it.  (I tried to tell him it was a snore)  Now he is glued to the Bee pages!

I have been reading  The Divide by Nicholas Evans.  The first 2 chapters hooked me.  Now it is kind of dragging.  Hope it picks up a swifter pace soon.  Like on the next page!

Over Christmas we both read and enjoyed The Wild Girl by Jim Fergus.  Steve read One Thousand White Women by him as well.  He really liked it.  I am looking forward to reading it soon.

Enough already!  Hope your day was good too….

That quilt is going to be amazing, Gayle. I think I would not put any applique in the corner, and try to do a pretty quilting motif, trapunto….(of course, I can SAY that, even though I’ve not actually DONE it b4…lol) But I think a pretty trapunto design in those corners would be just the right statement there.
