Simply French

This quilt is much different than most of the ones Steve gets to quilt.  It is simple.  Very simple.  All the fabrics are from France.  The dark blue in the center of the top and the white with blue on the back are identical prints, just the colors are reversed.  The fabric came off the bolt at 54″ wide.  Then the striped border fabric was added.  I like the simplicity.  Why is that we who piece quilts dont think to do this? I am going to have to do this with a piece of fabric I love and don’t want to cut up.

Simple meander in the body is what his client asked for.  And equally simple wiggly line in the dark blue stripes only.

The top is above, back is below.

Weather report?  We got 6″ of snow today.  Expecting another foot of snow by Sunday afternoon.  The entire area has cancelled every event, State Police asking people to stay home and not go out on the road for any reason.  Don’t need to ask me!  Today was a jammie day, and Sat and Sun will be too.

Stay tuned for the first card received in the newest postcard exchange!

That piece is the epitome of “less is more”. I love it.
