First Fish

Last week, Elizabeth’s maternal grandparents brought her up to go fishing at the lake near our house.  She spent a whole week with them in PIttsburgh and did all kinds of fun things.  We were delighted when they called and told us they were coming and invited us to join the fun for the day.

This will probably bore some of you….. lots and lots of pics…. but hey, she is MY beautiful granddaughter, and I cant resist!

Elizabeth and Boppa Dave

Grammy (Clara) and Elizabeth

Grammy told Elizabeth to touch the fish.  Looking tentative!

hey!  another fish!

And another!

The guys tell stories, Grammy baits the hook while Elizabeth and Rusty watch.  (side note:  this was Rusty’s last day in this world.  How nice that he got to spend the day with Elizabeth at the lake.  I hope my last day on earth includes her by my side too.)

Grammy finally got Elizabeth to hold the fish.

Look Grandma Gayle.  Its slippery.  And cold.

Elizabeth….. A rose between 2 thorns?  Or a favorite child between 2 Grandpas?  Bappa Dave and Steve both shower her with attention.

Elizabeth “driving” the tractor with Steve.

What do you mean it’s time to go home??

What a great day!  Thanks so much Dave and Clara!

Gayle, those are grat pix and I’m glad you enjoyed your day. Now, what happened to Rusty?

Rusty was sick that day and nite. He went to the vet the next day and was put to sleep. A sad day for Dave and Clara.

So sorry about Rusty. Putting a pet down is the hardest thing to do. I am so glad he had a wonderful last day.
