We see pheasants along the road fairly often.  The Game Commission drops them off to populate the woods for hunters.  Silly to me, but that is what they do.  They often get hit by cars.

Today we were quilting when I saw something run by the window.  This fella was running around our house!  He is the prettiest ring neck pheasant we have ever seen.  Isnt  he a beauty?

    Gorgeous!! Can’t you imagine him depicted on a quilt??? It is so sad to hear that so many get hit by cars! I see a new quilt idea for you with all of your bird pictures!!

    Chris would salivate over that photo! he goes pheasant hunting every November in Nebraska. I think they are he most beautiful birds. We have a wreath made from pheasant pelts and the colors are just amazing……I should make a hand dyed set of fabric in pheasant colors.
